The browser-based version of BoostLink enables you to continue using your regular communication tool (think Zoom, MS Teams etc.) and adds professional simultaneous interpretation in as many languages as needed.
There are three ways to use BoostLink directly through your browser:
- Connect to the meeting platform and BoostLink in the same browser
- Connect to the meeting platform via the desktop application and BoostLink via mobile phone
- Connect to the meeting platform via its desktop application and BoostLink via the browser
NB! Please make sure to use a headset for listening in all cases to avoid double audio or echo.
1. Connect to the meeting platform and BoostLink in the same browser
1. Open the meeting link in a browser, we recommend Google Chrome, followed by Edge (Windows) or Safari (Mac), and choose the option to join the meeting in the browser. See the below examples for Zoom and MS Teams:
2. Open the link to BoostLink that has been shared with you via the chat on MS Teams, Zoom or another platform in the same browser.
3. To participate in the meeting in your chosen language, choose the language from the BoostLink page. You can mute the interpretation by clicking on the mute button to the left and if you have any issues, please reach out to our support team via the question mark in the middle of the black bar.
4. Make sure to MUTE the meeting platform audio to avoid double audio (don't worry, your microphone will function). To mute, right-click on the meeting tab and choose "Mute Site" (below example with MS Teams open in Chrome browser).
2. Connect to the meeting platform via the desktop application and BoostLink via mobile phone
- Open the meeting link in your computer desktop application
- Open the BoostLink link in your mobile phone browser (we recommend Safari app on iPhone and Chrome app on Android)
- Mute your computer sound (don’t worry, your microphone on the computer will still function) and listen to the language you wish from your phone. Make sure to use a headset to listen to the interpretation on your mobile phone.
Alternatively, you can also use the BoostEvents mobile app and enter the event key shared by the organizer.
3. Connect to the meeting platform via the desktop application and BoostLink via browser (Windows).
- Open the meeting link in your computer desktop application
- Open the link to BoostLink in the browser (Google Chrome recommended)
Mute the meeting app via Windows "Volume Mixer" -> Right-click on the speaker icon on your taskbar and "Open Volume Mixer", see below 👇
