This article is useful for moderators and speakers on Boostlingo Events to show a specific image instead of the default "Audio Only" icon when turning off the webcam on any event. There are two options for uploading it at your convenience, here are their steps:

1. Via the Boostlingo Events Portal:

  • Log on to the Boostlingo Events portal with your email and password. In case you do not have an account, you can create one through the signup page.
  • Similarly to changing your Display Name or Password, you can go to the bottom-left of the page, click your name/email, and then "Settings"
  • Under your "Personal profile settings", there is an "Avatar" section
  • Click your initials and choose a picture file from your computer, such as a photo or logo; here is an example below. We recommend JPEG or PNG, ideally in a 16:9 format and at least 250 x 250 pixels.

You can always choose a new image by repeating this step

2. Inside an event, via the User Settings

This option can also be useful in case you are a guest speaker without a Boostlingo Events account.

  • While inside any event, on the top-right corner you have three dots - You can click on them and then "User Settings"
  • This will bring up the following menu, from which you can adjust your display name and photo, similar to option 1. above:
  • Click the Avatar placeholder and then select an image file from your computer
  • Press "Save Username" once done

After either of the options are followed, your display image will be looking as follows on any event you are joining with speaking permissions.

You can always turn on your webcam at any point.

In case the event is not started or paused, you can also check a summary of your uploaded image and display name:

  • In the event pre-check page before joining
  • On the top-right corner of the interface after joining
