Boostlingo Events gives you four ways to control who can join your event.. These options determine whether attendees need a link, password, an account tied to an email, or event-specific registration before entering. The right one depends on how public the event is, how much friction you can put in front of attendees, and how much you need to know about who showed up.
All of these options can be selected after you create a multilingual event and you can follow this guide to choose the setup that best fits your event:
Setup
The "Open Invite" configuration is the default mode after creating an event and it is the recommended one for the vast majority of cases
Open invite
🌐 Easiest Access
- Anyone with the event link can join. No account, no password, no registration - just the URL or QR code
- Account not required
- Friction None — one click
- You'll know Whoever they say they are
- Best for Public events, town halls, on-site events, events with integration and anything where reach matters more than knowing exactly who attended.
Event password
🔒 Shared Secret, slightly higher security
- Attendees must enter a password to get in; the link or QR code alone is not enough.
- Account not required
- Friction One extra step
- You'll know They had the password
- Best for: Paid events, member-only sessions, or any event where the link might get forwarded but you still want a soft security setup
Invited only
🪪 Verified identity, requires account setup
- Only people invited from your attendee list can join, and they need a Boostlingo Events account; they can create one in advance or right before the event, by clicking "Do not have an account? Sign up"
- Account Required
- Friction Sign in with email and password and then confirm account with email verification
- You'll know Exactly who joined, as the name and email will be in the participants list
- Best for Internal meetings, board sessions, client briefings, generally events with a known guest list you don't want broadened
Registration required
- Attendees need a Boostlingo Events account and have to pre-register for this specific event before they can join.
- Account Required
- Friction Sign in (as "Invited Only" above) + register
- You'll have a list of registered users in advance
- Best for: Conferences, ticketed events, training programs, or anything where you need to compare the list of registered users versus the list of actual participants who joined it
