Roles on Boostlingo Events

In every event on Boostlingo Events there can be up to 4 main roles :

  1. Moderator(s)
  2. Speaker(s)
  3. Interpreter(s)
  4. Audience Members
  5. Operators (Optional)

Moderator(s)

Check the Moderator interface.

The moderator(s) is the primary control of an event. This role can:

  • Start, Pause, and End an event
  • Change event configuration between ‘Structured moderation’(only 1 person can be heard at a time) and ‘Open meeting’ (all can speak)
  • See the list of all Speakers and check who is online
  • Mute/unmute all Speakers
  • Pass the floor to other Speakers
  • Check the status of Interpreters
  • See the list of Audience
  • Control event slides at all times
  • Create and manage Polls
  • Have private chats with all Speakers and Interpreters
  • Manage event questions from all participants
  • Interact with Video, Audio, and Screensharing

Speaker(s)

Check the Speaker interface.

The Speaker(s) are the people who can take the floor and present. This role can:

  • See the list of all Speakers and check who is online
  • Request floor to speak
  • Select the language (in which they listen)
  • Interact with Video, Audio, and Screensharing
  • Interact via chat
  • Select the language (in which they listen)
  • Control the slides & screen sharing when one has the floor
  • Participate in polling

Audience member(s)

Check the Audience interface.

The audience members can not be seen or heard. They can:

  • Follow the streaming and presentation
  • Interact via chat
  • Select the language (in which they listen)
  • Participate in polling

Interpreter(s)

Check the Interpreter interface.

The remote simultaneous interpreters can be monolingual or bidirectional. They can:

  • Follow the streaming and presentation
  • Interpret
  • Request the Speaker(s) to slow down
  • Switch microphone between interpreters
  • Take relay via other language channels
  • Interact via chat

Operator(s)- Event support role

The operators help to check the sound and connectivity and manage the chats with participants and interpreters. This is an optional role that needs to be added to the event by the event creator. They can:

  • Follow the streaming and presentation
  • Select the language (in which they listen)
  • Interact via chat (access to all chat channels, including "Moderator + All Interpreters")
  • Monitor the event via Operator Panel
